The Educational Supervisor: Having qualified from Newcastle in 2019, I was incredibly fortunate to have joined Plummers where I have been ever since. The opportunities available to me in that time and the support I have received have been second to none. I have a huge variety to my work within the group across several practices, ranging from NHS and private restorative dentistry to orthodontics, being a member of the East of England Dental Trauma Team and more recently, our school screening visits with the amazing Happy Smiles Club.
I am always striving to improve my knowledge and skill set and regularly attend CPD events and training courses. I am also passionate about teaching and regularly supervise other young dentists and trainees within our group, as well as giving presentations at our practice meetings. Locally I am involved within dental politics, being a member of both the Local Dental Committee (LDC) and the Norfolk and Norwich branch of the BDA.
My work is thoroughly enjoyable, however having an escape is important and I have a wife and two young boys who I spend my free time with. We regularly go on trips to the amazing beaches in Norfolk, go on adventures with our dog and for meals out in Norwich. I am keen golfer and in a past life, pursued a career in the profession; nowadays I tee it up with the other golfers within our group in a much more relaxed environment!
The Practice: We are a successful independent NHS & Private group of practices across Norfolk and Suffolk with the following accreditations:
- IIP (Investors in People),
- NVQ III training Centre Accreditation,
- ISO 9002 (Business Systems Accreditation).
We have an excellent team of senior nurses as well as our own nurses training school, with an intake of 12-16 new candidates per year. As a group, we have been involved with dental foundation training since its inception and have a number of highly experienced educational supervisors across the group.
Our Costessey practice is a 5-surgery practice, with a centralised sterilisation room, well equipped surgeries, digital X-rays (intra-oral and panoramic) and on-site parking for staff and patients.
Our Thorpe practice has recently been renovated to become an 11-surgery practice. It has all the features of our Costessey practice as well as our award-winning Happy Smiles Club, whose team of nurses deliver fantastic sessions on oral health education, both in the practice and within the community.
The group has around 60 dentists and dental care professionals overall, with specialist orthodontists and oral surgeons, and highly experienced dentists trained in periodontics, implant and restorative dentistry. The team are all incredibly friendly and willing to share their experience and learning with others.
The Area: Norwich is known as the City of Stories and is a beautiful, modern and friendly city. With its 8 districts, there is something for everyone with iconic buildings, bars and restaurants and must-see attractions. Whether you are visiting with family or friends, Norwich has so much to offer. If you need to get around, there are also good transport links to London and Cambridge.
Further afield in the county of Norfolk, you will not be short of things to do either! Amongst others, you might find yourself crabbing in Cromer, seal-watching in Horsey, enjoying the nature reserve at Pensthorpe or spending the day on the Norfolk Broads.

Throughout the year, we also run various sociable events, such as rounders and cricket, and the team regularly meet for our practice meetings and CPD events. There is also the all-important Christmas party!
