The Educational Supervisors: Swarupini - I graduated from King’s College London in 2016 and undertook my dental foundation training in Kent, Surrey, Sussex Deanery. In 2017, I undertook my dental core training in OMFS at Brighton and Sussex University Hospital. I have been an associate at the practice since 2018. We are a small practice with a friendly team who work well together and are approachable. I am keen and committed to updating my skills and knowledge on a regular basis. I have a good relationship with my patients and enjoy my time at the practice.
Pavit - I graduated from The University of Birstol in 2014 and completed my dental foundation training in London. During this time sat for the MJDF (part 1) qualification from RCS. I joined Obex following this and have stayed on for almost 9 years. I have undertaken numerous courses including restorative courses run by Eastman Dental hospital. General dentistry is where my passion is and having spent most of my time Darrell house, I have developed a strong relationship with the patients and I am constantly updating my skills to serve the community's dental needs. I look forward to being able to pass on the knowledge and experiences I have learnt in general dentistry to newly qualified dentists.
The Practice: Darrell House Dental Practice is part of the Obex Dental group and is mixed NHS/ Private practice.
The Practice is equipped with Kavo and Belmont dental chairs, fibre optic handpieces, digital sensors, intra -oral cameras, Endo Rotary motor,Pulp testers, Apex locators, surgical handpieces, rubber dam kits, iTero scanner and OPG machine. Matrix systems and various composite systems are available to enhance clinical skills.
There is a comprehensive list of patients available on the NHS and private too.
We have clinical staff members including a dentist with special interests foe e.g. in oral surgery and restorative dentistry. Hygienists are available to refer to in house. Furthermore, you will have access to our specialist referral centre in Harpenden where a team of restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic and orthodontic specialists work, to help broaden your exposure.
All surgeries have air-conditioning units and computers with Exact software. We have a staff room on the second floor and parking opposite the building.
The Area: Dunstable is in Bedfordshire and easy access via car as it is just off Junction 9 on the M1. With public transport, it is a 20 minute journey from Luton Rail station. There are various bus links which will come into Dunstable High street and it is a short 10 minute walk to the practice.
The practice is located just off the main high street in Dunstable in a residential area and therefore has good access to shopmobility, restaurants, cafes and gyms. It is also very close to Dunstable Downs which is a popular countryside area for sports and hiking.
We have a good mix of patients, from the elderly to very young and are very friendly. It is a good practice when first starting off as a newly qualified dentist as patients are of fairly high dental needs so you can really develop your skills to help you become a confident and competent dentist.
Other Points of Interest: Darrell house is part of a the Obex dental group which have practices in Houghton Regis, Luton, Hitchin and Harpenden. Therefore we have a broad network of staff of varying skills who are very approachable and willing to share their experiences with others. Needless to say, that help in whatever area of dentistry, whether clinical or non clinical will always be on hand.
