Meet our Faculty

Lizzie Soyode

I'm an A&E doctor dedicated to making medicine accessible and engaging. With extensive teaching experience, I enjoy supporting others in their growth and development. As an East of England Fellow, I’ve contributed to developing educational courses for the region and expanding our faculty. I find inspiration in meeting people, hearing their stories, and learning valuable lessons through shared experiences. Outside of medicine, I have a passion for theatre, music, and exploring the world whenever I have time off.

Sharan Subramanian

I’m Sharan Subramanian and I’m an ST6 Paediatric Trainee in Hertfordshire. I’ve been passionate about teaching ever since I finished my MBBS in India.

After moving to the UK in 2019, at the Trust level, I have coordinated the departmental teaching, setting up a weekly online teaching programme during the pandemic to ensure ongoing departmental teaching during the pandemic, and a micro-teaching programme to ensure daily teaching. In addition, I have delivered numerous postgraduate seminars, undergraduate university lectures and tutored multiple medical student groups.

At the regional level, I am part of the Paediatric ST5-8 PG Training Committee, organizing monthly deanery study days, and the EOE MedEd Faculty.

Natasha Kanvinde

I am currently a paediatric registrar in the East of England. I have been a part of medical education and mentoring for the past four years. Prior to that I was involved in sports coaching. When not at work, I enjoy playing tennis and drinking lots of coffee.

Mao Fong Lim

I am an ACF and registrar in general adult psychiatry working in Cambridge and Peterborough. I have been involved in various teaching initiatives and I have completed a PGCert in Medical Education with the University of Cambridge. Outside of work I enjoy art and theatre. I have a keen interest in integrating creative approaches to clinical work and education.

Prashida Sarkar

I am an O&G ST6, with special interest in gynae-oncology. I have been involved with teaching undergraduates from Newcastle, Leicester, and Cambridge universities since 2018. I have completed a PG Cert in Medical Education with merit from University of Buckingham, and enrolled in IFME. I have been a faculty member with Core Module (previously LEAF-BUD) since 2023. I helped develop content for the Core Module and hope to continue contributing to the development of a learner friendly education programme in the East of England. I am also a LEGO aficionado and in my spare time, indulge in all things arts and crafts.

Savan Rao

I am a paediatric emergency medicine and an emergency medicine higher specialty trainee at Addenbrooke’s hospital with interest in teaching and training. I have been a life support course and a simulation instructor through my emergency medicine career. I’ve also been a faculty for Society of Emergency Medicine, India’s Masters of Emergency Medicine. I have been involved with LEAF and development of Core module of the medical education course from HEE. I hope and wish this course can be a step in your climb to a career providing training and mentoring to other health care professionals.
