Workforce, training and education
East of England

The Quality Management Framework (QMF) for Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education (PGMDE) in Health Education England working across the east of England is underpinned by our commitment to continual quality improvement and the requirement to meet the standards for quality set by our regulator, the General Dental Council (GDC) and by the Committee of Post-Graduate Dental Deans and Directors ( COPDEND).

The process involves Dental Foundation Training,  Dental Core Training and Dental Specialty Training as well as the multi-professional dental education (MPDE) and training course programme.

Quality management is undertaken as below:

  • Surveys: HEE EoE trainer and trainee surveys including the exit questionnaire
  • Feedback from study day programmes
  • Feedback from participants in the MPDE courses
  • Trainee participation in HEE EoE quality improvement processes
  • A HEE EoE visiting process to all our Trusts across the region (visit document in download box)
  • Data analysis of dental foundation and specialty training outcome data
  • A School of Dentistry report, which informs Health Education England working across the east of England Annual Report
