The Board of the Postgraduate School of Anaesthesia

Deaneries began creating Postgraduate Schools in all specialties in 2007 and all School Boards in the EoE Deanery were appointed by the end of 2008. The School Board brings closer working relationships between the Deanery, RCoA and NHS Trusts to enable a coherent approach to the delivery of training, meeting the RCoA curriculum standards and continuing the high quality training delivered in this region. We aim to produce fully trained, competent, professional specialists, and our trainees have an excellent record of obtaining the Consultant posts of their choice. The School Board works in harmony with the Regional Training Committee on which all constituent hospital RCoA Tutors have a seat. The Head of School, Regional Advisers for Anaesthesia, ICM and Pain, Programme Directors and University Academic Department Representative attend board meetings which are held twice a year. There is also representation from the Director of Post Graduate Education and the Deputy Postgraduate Dean.
