The Educational Supervisor: I qualified from the Barts and The London in 1996 and after DFT and working as an associate became Principal at Stamford Dental Care in 1999. As a GDP with a special interest in Implantology, Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry, I have completed a Certificate in Surgical and Prosthodontic Implantology, Certificate in Restorative Dentistry, Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative Dental Practice (DRDP) from UCL and a PG Cert in Dental Education. I am passionate about dentistry and passing on my knowledge and experience to FDs. I have an open door policy and am available every day for the duration of the DFT year. My hobbies include football, Cricket, running and travelling.
The Practice: Stamford Dental Care is a very busy mixed dental practice that was relocated to a new purpose built premises in the centre of Stamford in December 2018. The practice is comprised of 8 surgeries which are equipped with new high specification dental chairs and cabinetry. We are planning to add another 2 surgeries in the near future. The practice is fully computerized and paperless, all x-ray imaging is digital and we have a CBCT scanner and intra oral 3shape and iTero scanners. There is a decontamination room, 2 waiting rooms and a separate staff room. The practice has full disability access. Our team consists of 9 dentists who have different interests and are always available to guide our FD. We have a Implantologist, Endodontist and Periodontist referral service and provide Invisalign and Clear correct orthodontics and would be more than happy to allow the FD to shadow and assist. At Stamford Dental Care we have a team of 24 dedicated staff members and three hygienists some who have been with the practice for over 26 years. We have a large stable patient base and a very friendly and supportive dental team. We regularly have team meetings in practice and social gatherings outside of practice.
The Area: Once dubbed “Britain’s top place to live”, Stamford is a pretty market town in Lincolnshire boasting 16th-century charm and an independent shopping and dining scene that attracts travellers from far and wide.
The stately home of Burghley House on the edge of the town was built by Lord Burghley the treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I, in the 16th-c and its elaborate cupolas and obelisk clock towers can be seen anywhere in the surrounding park with its many deer. There is also a sculpture garden and the garden of Surprises. Its magnificent room settings and painted ceilings are a joy to see.
Stamford is easily accessible by car from the A1, which is just five minutes from the town centre or by train from nearby Peterborough or directly from London (via Kings Cross station), in just one and a half hours.

Our practice is fully computerised using EXACT and Examine Pro software and digital x-rays, including OPG and CBCT scanner.
