The Educational Supervisor: I have been a practice mentor for the PLVE scheme for 2 years now. I have developed a good level of experience with dealing with new dentists and teaching them good care within the NHS system.
The Practice: Good team ethic practice where everyone works towards a common goal. We do both NHS and private dentistry, and recently have been give child friendly status - where we work with the local CDS to help with the back log of patients.
The Area: Kirkby is a high needs area. Patient here often need a little longer during appts so we can explain oral hygiene to them. As a practice we are aprrox 25% children, 25% exempts, 50% fee paying. I do believe this would be an idea practice for any new graduate.
Other Points of Interest: We are in the process of moving to a new building. The new practice will be fully air conditioned, with 6 new modern surgeries.
