The Educational Supervisor: I qualified from Medical University in Wroclaw, Poland in 2001. Together with my family I moved to England in 2005 and settled in Essex where I was working in a large NHS practice. In 2018 I decided to purchase Great Horkesley Dental Studio and, from 2021 I was awarded an Educational Supervisor position.
I am very passionate about providing dental services to our patients. They are given all the help and support available to achieve their dental fitness and aesthetic needs, which I find very rewarding. I am a very experienced general dental practitioner with keen interest in endodontics, orthodontics and a digital dentistry workflow.
I am very much looking forward to passing on my experience and enthusiasm for dentistry to the new generation of dentists. It is a real privilege to play a part in the Foundation Dentist's first clinical position and to guide their progression within the dental sector.
The Practice: Great Horkesley Dental Studio has tree surgeries; one surgery, reception and OPG/staff changing room are located on the ground floor and two remaining surgeries, the Practice Manager’s office is located on the first floor. The practice is fully computerized, using Software of Excellence (Exact) and digital radiographs including OPG. The surgery offers a good range of dental materials and equipment with a rotary endo, intra oral cameras and Dentsply Sirona Primescan and Primemill. The dentists are supported by team of experienced, multi-skilled nurses, receptionists and the practice manager. Alongside myself there are three experienced associates ( one of them my fist FD) and two dental hygienists.
We are very busy mixed practice, with a good cross-section of the local populace.
We operate an open door policy and encourage discussions within the clinical team when dealing with uncertain care pathways.
The Area: The practice is located in the picturesque village of Great Horkelsey which is on the outskirts of Colchester, Essex, and is only 2,5 miles from the A12 London to Ipswich main road. It also has excellent public transport links including a direct service from Colchester Railway Station. Colchester is only 20 minutes from the coast and 50 minutes by rail to London Liverpool Street.
Although there is no on site parking for staff, there are plenty of nearby parking spaces available.
There are two new housing developments close to the surgery with plenty of different types of properties to offer.
Other Points of Interest: Colchester is Britain's oldest recorded city. The Romans where here from around 50 AD, on a visit to the city you'll discover that the historic centre is ripe for exploring, with important heritage to be found around every corner.
