The Educationals Supervisor: I have been an Educational Supervisor since January 2006 and I have sat on the panel of examiners for the MJDF and the NEBDN. I have obtained a postgraduate certificate in dental education and have a masters of law degree in medical law and ethics. I encourage postgraduate education in the FD and would warmly welcome a person who is keen to learn, integrate into our team and above all look after and treat our patients with high professional standards and integrity.
I have lectured for the London Deanery on anterior and posterior composites along with crown and bridgework. I particularly enjoy restorative dentistry.
I have a profound interest in legal matters and have lectured to FD's and ES's on topics such as the legality of the NHS Constitution and GDC Standards. I do enjoy teaching law and ethics. I have completed the Bond Solon course in expert witness accreditation in July 2019 which is run in tandem with Cardiff University's School of Law and Politics. I sit on the panel of expert witnesses for Dental Protection.
The Practice: We are a modern mixed practice -predominantly NHS -located in the centre of St. Albans in a residential area. A multi-storey car park is situated opposite the practice. All mandatory services are provided under the NHS along with any private treatment requested. Both treatment rooms have been refurbished and a dedicated decontamination room has been built. The treatment rooms are large, air-conditioned, with fibre-optics and Ni-Ti endodontic equipment is available. The FD's surgery is suitable only for a right handed clinician.
The FD has a qualified nurse who has worked consecutively with FDs since 2007. She has passed the clinical impressions course.
There is a part time associate who adds a wealth of experience to our team.
Trainee hours are Monday - Thursday: 09.00 -18.00.
The Area: St. Albans is a vibrant Roman town with history and distinction. There are many fine restaurants and bars in the area with 2 shopping arcades nearby the practice.
