The Educational Supervisor: Arvinder Khatkar qualified from Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in 1992.She has been the practice principal since 2003 and has been involved in Foundation Training since 2004 being an Educational Supervisor for fourteen years. She has also gained postgraduate qualification PgCert in Dental Education in 2016. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and with a keen interest in cosmetic dental treatments too.
She aims to provide encouragement, support, guidance and motivation for the foundation dentist to help them gain confidence and competence through the foundation year.

The Practice: The practice is a modern, progressive, family focused mixed NHS and Private dental practice. It is an approved BDA Good Practice Silver member. The patient base consists of a broad mixture of young families, elderly and working population hence providing the FD with a good range of clinical experience. The three modern, well-equipped surgeries are air-conditioned, fully computerised using the Exact software system, all have individual intra-oral digital x-ray units. There is a dedicated central decontamination room. There is also an OPG room. We offer a comprehensive range of NHS and Private treatments for all age groups of patients.  The FD working hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and study days on Fridays.

The dedicated practice team consists of two dental associates (one previous FD), part time hygienist, fully qualified practice manager and fully qualified dental nurses who are oral health educators and radiographers. This is a very experienced team with lots of enthusiasm, motivation and a sympathetic, caring attitude who will provide the FD a  wealth of experience and knowledge.
The practice has full wheelchair access and parking is available off street or on the forecourt.

The Area: The practice is located just 15 minutes from Birmingham City Centre with easy access to the M5 motorway and close proximity to bus and train networks. It is located within a residential area in a parade of shops with parking available on the practice forecourt or off street.

Other Points of Interest: FDs are encouraged to become involved in all aspects of clinical dentistry, to observe as much as possible and to get involved in as wide a range of treatment as possible to ensure they finish the year as competent and confident associates.
The nature of the practice and its patient base gives FDs a broad range of opportunities to observe and to practice all aspects of dentistry within an ethical environment focused on comprehensive patient care.
