The Educational Supervisor: As a general dental practitioner I enjoy working with the dental team, treating patients and helping and supporting my FDs. I am approachable and always have an open door policy. I have been an ES since 2009 and the practice principal at Trinity Dental Surgery since 1998.
I qualified from University College Hospital London in 1990 with a degree in dentistry (BDS). I have also gained a masters degree (MSc) in Implant Dentistry with distinction from the University of Warwick, a post graduate certificate in medical education and a level 5 qualification in coaching and mentoring.
I have held the post of honorary teaching fellow at the University of Warwick and was also Programme Director at Health Education England for Performance List Validation by Equivalence between 2011 and 2018.
Outside of dentistry I have a busy family life and my hobbies include walking, gardening and cooking. I am a member of the local Rotary club where I work with like minded professional people to raise money for various charities.
The Practice: The practice is situated in north Birmingham, in the town center of Sutton Coldfield. There is good access via road , bus and rail routes.
Trinity dental surgery is a friendly, modern town center practice situated in a pleasant suburb to the north of Birmingham.
- All surgeries are air conditioned, fully computerized with modern Kavo equipment and digital x-ray system.
- The practice is open Monday to Friday and closed on Wednesday afternoons.
- Treatment is predominantly NHS but there is a growing demand for cosmetic dentistry and implants.
- The practice is in good standing with Health Education England and is a member of the British dental Association Good Practice Scheme.
- Staff are experienced and friendly, the practice serves a relatively affluent area and has a stable patient base.
The Area: Sutton Coldfield is a affluent suburb situated about 7 miles north of Birmingham city center. The town is well served by road, bus and rail links (with six trains an hour into Birmingham which is approximately 20 minutes away). The practice is just off the High Street and close to the shopping center with a wide variety of shops, cafes and restaurants.
Sutton Park, which is a 2,400 acre National Nature Reserve and one of the largest urban parks in Europe, is close to the surgery and offers many opportunities for leisure including walking, cycling, canoeing and even sailing. Good quality local accommodation is easy to find within walking distance of the surgery.
Other Points of Interest: The staff are well trained, friendly and have a good sense of humor. Staff training is encouraged and supported by the practice. We have team building days to encourage an exchange of knowledge and experience and to help develop good social interaction between staff members. As well as having well equipped surgeries we also have a welcoming staff room usually stocked up with biscuits and snacks.
