The Educational Supervisor: Harai Virdee is the practice principal and has been an Educational Supervisor (ES) since 1994 and mentored over 30 Foundation Dentists (FDs) during this time. He has also been a past honorary clinical tutor at Birmingham Dental School and combined with the role as an ES in practice, he is well accustomed to the challenges and difficulties faced by new dental graduates. Harai Virdee qualified from Manchester University in 1984 and was awarded two prizes in restorative and clinical dentistry on graduation. He gained the MFGPRCS from London in 1995 and was awarded MSc in Clinical Education from Sheffield University in 2015, reflecting his lifelong commitment towards postgraduate education and clinical education. He has developed a special interest in restorative dentistry and orthodontics which he is able to share with the practice colleagues and FDs.  Harai Virdee has been a Local Dental Committee member since 2008 representing the local dentists on issues that they face in primary dental care setting. He also works for NHS England on the Performers List Decision Panel and has to make decision on dentists who find themselves with fitness to practice concerns.

Outside dentistry, Harai regularly attends the gym and follows football and cricket. He is also a trustee to a local community organisation.

The Practice: Dental Art is an ultra modern, purpose built, developing practice with 30 years of history. We have 3 fully equipped surgeries, computerised with R4 Carestream software, digital radiography and an OPG machine. The practice currently holds an Orthodontic and Minor Oral Surgery contract, offering excellent opportunities to gain advanced experience in these fields. The current oral surgeon who completed Foundation Training at our practice in 2011 has gone to complete his specialist training and has been admitted to the GDC Oral Surgery specialist list. We have a high quality digital SLR camera for case presentation purposes, ensuring you have the best equipment to present your cases. We are a busy, mixed NHS and private practice with loyal, long-standing patients. The broad mix of patients ensures you will gain vast experience in all treatment provisions. We are indeed proud of our past and present Foundation Dentists who have awarded prizes for outstanding case presentations and publications. We have highly experienced, helpful and caring staff members who are able to aid the foundation dentist's transition to an independent practitioner
