The role of the Lay Representative [PPV Partner] has become increasingly more important in ensuring the practice at each Local Education and Training Board (LETB) aligns to the nationally agreed process and offers applicants a consistent and equitable experience.  

Requirements of the PPV Partner as a Lay Representative in National Recruitment: 

• The LR should have sufficient advance knowledge of the broad scope of their role with respect to recruitment, and preferably have attended interviews as an observer if new to the role.
• The LR should have more specific knowledge of the national processes so they can advise when queries arise. 
• Observing the process
• Moderating the process
• Reporting on the process
• Emergency arrangements
