Workforce, training and education
East of England

Health Education East of England [HEEoE] is the regional support for delivering excellent healthcare and health improvements to the patients and public of England, by developing, commissioning and innovating the education and development of all healthcare staff. It is a national function of Health Education England [HEE] to promote education and training that is responsive to the changing needs of patients and local communities, including the responsibility for ensuring the effective delivery of important national functions, such as national recruitment. HEEoE strives to realize this with the development of innovative new models of delivery, building capacity and capability for education, training and development and leading on educational research. HEEoE works across Bedfordshire, Cambridgshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

HEE exists to help improve the quality of care delivered to patients and HEE is committed to ensuring that patient and public voice is at the centre of what we do.  Putting patients at the heart of the education, training and workforce planning process will ensure a better connection between the decisions and investments we make and the quality of care and experience patients receive. On top of bridging the connection between the service and the user, the Patient and Public Voice Partner is in engaged by HEEoE to ensure that the decisions made within the activities that take place, such as annual assessments, are transparent, robust and in line with the set out processes.

By using the term ‘patients and public voice partners’ we include patients, service users, carers and relatives of patients, and the general public.
