Luton and Dunstable Foundation Post Descriptions

Due to a large number of NHS Trust service reconfigurations, all posts may be subject to change (sometimes at short notice) in placement order, specialty, length and site.

All F1 and F2 posts are subject to change at any time during your Foundation Programme. Therefore, you'll receive a further confirmation of your F2 placements during your F1 year (usually in February)

Foundation training is not in any way training for Specialty. You'll work in a mixture of surgical and medical placements, giving you the general training you need to achieve Foundation competencies.

Each two-year Foundation training programme consists of an F1 and F2 post. Each F1 and F2 rotation comprise three four-month placements (specialties). Some placements, such as General Medicine or General Surgery, may contain sub-specialties.

A list of our two-year programmes is published each year during the application period. Any questions about specific placements which are not answered in the attachments on this page should be directed to individual hospitals.

Any missing descriptions in the attachments below will be published as soon as they are received from the relevant NHS Trusts.
