Out of Hours Training

Out of Hours (OOH) work is a compulsorary component of GP training, requiring 108 hours of OOH work in total (about 6 hours per month), split over the 2 GP posts. 32 hours should be completed in first 6 month GP placement, with the remaining 76 hours in the ST3 year

Your OOH total includes:

OOH GP sessions

Maximum of 10 hours of 'other' work - could include, for example, OOH inductions, courses, ambulance shift, Walk-in Centre, Palliative Care or District Nursing shifts.

Sessions can be complete with Care UK (North East Essex's local provider of OOH services) and Suffolk GP Plus

Inductions are offered when you are due to rotate into GP practice. The invitations are sent to trainees direct from the providers.

Any difficulties can be raised directly with your supervisors, the TPDs or with OOH provider
