The Practice: The Dental Department at the Liverpool Road Health Centre is a seven surgery clinic on the edge of Luton town centre with dedicated central decontamination facilities and an independent x-ray room with intra-oral and an OPG/Ceph machine. All surgeries are computerised with Internet access. The surgery in which the FD will work is well equipped and provides a spacious working environment. The dental team of dentists, therapists, hygienists and dental nurses with extended duties carry out an extensive range of treatment predominantly on children and adults who are dentally anxious or phobic. Routine dental care for adults is offered to enable Foundation Dentists to provide a full range of dental treatment for the local population. The team is very welcoming and engage well with Foundation Dental training, providing excellent opportunities for experience and learning. Dental treatment under conscious sedation is offered on site including inhalation sedation and intravenous sedation. The Service also operates weekly General Anaesthetic sessions which are undertaken in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery theatre at The Luton & Dunstable Hospital.
