CLINICAL FELLOW IN OCULOPLASTICS
MN37 £31,217 - £49,086

Applications are invited for a full time Clinical Fellow post in the sub specialty of oculoplastics/lacrimal with some general ophthalmology commitments. This will be for a fixed term of one year. The successful candidate will have training in assessment and management of common eyelid disorders, eyelid tumour excision and reconstruction, lacrimal disorders and DCR surgery.
The Ophthalmology Department is situated within a purpose built eye clinic which includes all the diagnostic services and ophthalmology YAG and Argon lasers. All ophthalmology surgeries are undertaken in the Day Stay Unit. Outreach clinics are held in Maldon, Braintree and South Woodham Ferrers.

Sub specialty clinics are held for glaucoma, medical retinal disease including treatment of wet macular degeneration, Cornea, Oculo-plastics and paediatric ophthalmology. 
The post will be suitable for an experienced trainee towards the completion or following completion of their training programme. The time table will involve mainly oculoplastics and lacrimal training with some general ophthalmology. There will be two oculoplastocs/lacrimal clinics and two oculoplastics/lacrimal theatre session per week plus attendance at a facial plastics clinic/theatre per week with the plastics team. There would also be emergency an on call duties (1 in 6).
You must have full GMC with a licence to practice. You will possess excellent communication skills.

There is an active Postgraduate Medical Education centre and single/married accommodation is available on the hospital site. We encourage further career development and postgraduate qualifications.

Broomfield Hospital is situated in Chelmsford close to the A12 and the major motorway networks, M25 and M11. Local public transport facilities are excellent with buses and a British Rail station is nearby.
