MRCGP Overview

Achieving the nMRCGP exam is now a prerequisite for being awarded your CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training). Click here for the overview provided at the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) website.

The tabs above provide you with some information about the three elements of this "integrated assessment programme", together with our take on some issues you may wish to consider when deciding when to do what.

Registering for your e-Portfolio

The most important piece of advice here is - DO IT NOW! - if you haven't already. To do this you need to register with the College. Registration can be done on-line via the RCGP website's Associate in Training (AiT) pages - click here to access these.

Most people will be selecting the AiT Package for ST1 (CCT) option if entering a 3-year training scheme. It is not unheard of for minor glitches to crop up with direct debits etc, so plan ahead and give yourself time for these to be ironed out!

Fees

The level of fees payable depend on whether you register for CCT only, or whether you join the college as an AiT- click here for details. The latter is more expensive overall but does allow you to stage your payments by yearly direct debit, as well as enjoying other benefits of Associate membership.
