Trainers workshops are the key medium which facilitate Trainer development; they should occupy at least 6 sessions every year and each Trainer/Associate Trainer will be expected to attend at least 50% of these sessions on an annual basis.

Trainers and Associate Trainers are expected to record the learning arising from Trainers workshops in their personal learning portfolio which should be used as evidence when seeking approval/re-approval

Trainers workshops should coordinate the peer review of teaching episodes (e.g. video or direct observation) so that each Trainer/Associate Trainer is able to record their reflection on the feedback of peers once every 3 years in their personal learning portfolio; evidence for this will be specifically sought at approval/re-approval

It is expected that copies of the minutes of Trainers Workshops including attendance registers should be sent as part of the GP Specialty Training scheme annual report to Health Education East of England.
