Information about Dental Foundation Training 

Whether you are new to Dental Foundation or an experienced Trainer please read very carefully the Guide for Trainers and also the Person and Practice Specifications as there are many changes which have been made in the Trainer selection process. You can download this information here, or alternatively it is included in the packs of forms downloadable below.

 

 

All Applicants 

Please note carefully the process for application. The sections below set out what you need to do according to whether you are a new applicant or a current HEEoE Trainer. The forms which you download from this site need to be completed on a computer.  The forms are .pdf files which MUST be opened and completed using Adobe Reader. We recommend that you use Adobe Reader XI.

If you do not have Adobe Reader installed on your computer you can obtain a copy from:  http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/reader.html.

Open Adobe Reader and then from this open each of the parts of the application forms. You will find that when the forms are opened you are able to fill in your own application details and to save the files so that you can return to the forms at your own convenience for adding or amending information before submission. 

Once the forms are completed they need to be saved, with your name as part of the file name  e.g.JohnSmithPart1.pdf. Then, one signed copy has to be posted to the  HEEoE Dental Education Office In addition to this, a copy of each of the forms must be emailed to HEEE.DFTrecruitment@nhs.net . Both sets of application forms, paper and email, must arrive before midday on Wednesday 10th December 2014 in order to be considered. 

 

Completing the Application Forms 

Whichever set of forms you download you must study carefully the guide to Completing the Application Forms. Many changes have been made this year, and the information it gives will help you greatly. It also gives you guidance on who to contact for help  If you need more information or assistance please contact the HEEoE Dental Education Office.

 

 

 

New Applicants - including Trainers returning after a break and non-HEEoE Trainers 

• New applicants will have an interview as part of their selection procedure.
• New applicants need to complete parts 1, 2, and 4 of the form. You can download a zip file with these forms by clicking here.
• New applicants can submit their application at any time after 1st October 2014 until the closing date of midday 10th December 2014

Current  HEEoE Trainers 

• Current HEEoE Trainers who were Trainers during the 2013-14 Training year will not require an interview; but for those Trainers for whom 2014-15 is their first year, an interview will form part of the process.
• Current HEEoE Trainers will need to complete parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the form. You can download a zip file with these forms by clicking here.
• Current HEEoE Trainers can submit Parts 1,2, and 4 of their application before the 1st December 2014, but  Part 3 will need to be sent after 1st December to enable completion of the time dated sections of Part 3.  All applications MUST be submitted by the closing date of midday 10th December 2014

HEEoE Trainer Performance Review 

HEEoE Trainers who have been appointed for more than one year, subject to satisfactory appraisal, will have a Performance Review with their Training Programme Director in Spring 2015.  The Trainer Performance Review aims to provide an opportunity to review a Trainer’s work in Foundation Training over the last year and to consider whether their performance as a Trainer will allow progress to the next year of appointment—the Trainer Selection Panel will review this process.
