The Basildon FRCR 2B  ‘A to Zee’ Courses concept:

  • It is important for the trainees to understand the ‘A to Zee’ concept of teaching in order to gain maximum benefit from it.
  • The concept is to cover each subject in a textbook order but in a 2B viva format.
  • Candidates who attend all the courses will cover the whole of the FRCR 2B syllabus in a ‘super-saturated’ format, which will include differential diagnoses.
  • This helps the candidates in developing their foundation and core knowledge on each subject, leading to more self-confidence heading into the exams.
  • Ideally this type of teaching should finish well in advance of the exam.
  • Nearer the final exam, we advise the candidates to attend traditional FRCR 2B mock exam courses to consolidate concepts learned at A to Zee.

What the candidates should expect:

  • For each course the candidates should be mentally and physically ready for marathon teaching sessions.
  • The teaching will start at 9.30 am and can potentially continue until 9pm, so all candidates should be ready for a long day of teaching!
  • Self-motivation to stay alert during this long day is of paramount importance. Adequate sleep on the previous night is very important in this regard.
  • Our past experience is that near the exams all candidates are super motivated to learn and manage to maintain concentration through these long sessions without much difficulty.
  • Those candidates who manage to attend all teaching days have the satisfaction to realise that they have covered the whole of the FRCR Radiology syllabus by putting in just eight days of hard work!
