The Educational Superviasors: Suzanne Plummer: I studied dentistry at Newcastle university and graduated in 1996. I returned home to Norfolk and completed vocational training on the Ipswich scheme. In 1997 I became an associate at my fathers practice and joined the partnership in2001. In 2010 I completed a postgraduate certificate in dental education at the university of Bedfordshire. I became an Educational Supervisor in 2001, and have worked with 9 newly qualified vocational trainees to date. I work with my husband Andrew, who I met playing hockey. We have two lively sons, James (6 years) and Edward ( 4 years).
Adam Levene: I Qualified from King's College London in 2010. Since then having moved from London to Norfolk I found myself working at JG Plummers. I have a keen interest in endo and I intend to study a MSc in Endontics as well as a PGCert in Dental Education in the comping years. With a passion for the career itself I hope I will be able to share my experience of general practice with a newly qualified FD and guide them through their first year in practice.
The Practices: Caister: The practice was purpose built in 1987. This four surgery practice provides modern facilities and excellent working conditions. All the surgeries have intra oral x ray machines and comply with HTM01 - 05. We have a new central sterilization suite. Clinical notes are computerised. We have a close working relationship with the medical practice and pharmacy with whom we share the premise.
Great Yarmouth: The practice is a large 10 surgery practice. Mainly NHS, it is based in the centre of Great Yarmouth town centre.
All 10 surgeries are set up identically, computerised with R4 notes and you will be fully equipped with all necessary handpieces and equipment to travel amongst both practices. Working at the practice you will be surrounded by a variety of experienced dentists offering useful information and guidance.
The Area: Caister-on sea is a rapidly expanding village on the Norfolk coast. Approximately 20 miles east of Norwich, where there is easy access to shops, cinema, restaurants, clubs as well as the famous Norfolk broads and beautiful coastline.
Great Yarmouth is a coastal town in Norfolk. It has an active market and town centre withing easy walking distance of the practice offering all the local ameneties. The area itself is most accessible via car.
The travel time to London from Norwich by rail is 1 hour and 50 minutes with services leaving every hour.
Other Points of Interest: The successful applicant will have his/her qualified nurse who will work at both surgeries; cover will be provided by a suitably trained nurse in case of sickness/holiday. Uniforms will be provided. We are a young enthusiastic group of you practitioners, the ideal candidate would benefit from being like minded.
